• Identify and gather community ideas on ways in which your unit can improve
• Support your area’s sustainability efforts and interest, with support from LSA Sustainability
• Meet with LSA Sustainability and other Sustainability Champions monthly
• Communicate opportunities and encourage participation in U-M sustainability events 
• Contribute to creating a positive work environment and fostering connection
• Serve as a resource for your unit by participating in Champion training events, Planet Blue Ambassador training, and other ongoing learning opportunities
• Help set a sustainability vision for LSA through involvement in long-term planning

Any graduate student or faculty/staff member working onsite or hybrid is eligible. Consider someone who:

• Is interested in sustainability, carbon neutrality, and environmental justice
• Is able to commit to meeting once a month for an hour for one year

• Champions who are active participants in the program can apply for internally available grants to support your unit’s efforts, you can learn more about the Incentives and Innovations Fund here
• Champions contribute to a growing culture of sustainability in LSA
• Your unit will have access to programs, activities, and materials that improve their awareness of how they can incorporate sustainable and low-carbon practices at home and work
